Mr. Wadee Al Handal welcomed UN Assistant Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Dardari and his accompanying delegation to Baghdad's Old City, where they were briefed on the progress achieved through the Pulse of Baghdad initiative and the projects completed across the area.
During the visit, Mr. Al-Dardari praised the initiative, highlighting its role in revitalizing the heart of historic Baghdad, supporting development and innovation, and creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. He also reaffirmed the United Nations' support for projects that contribute to the preservation and sustainable development of the city's historic center.
The visit highlights the value of collaboration between public, private, and international stakeholders in preserving Baghdad's cultural heritage while supporting sustainable urban development.
The Pulse of Baghdad initiative is implemented under the patronage of the Prime Minister, funded by the Central Bank of Iraq and the Tamkeen Fund, and overseen by the Baghdad Municipality and the Iraqi Private Banks League.
